I was just curious what format most people like to watch anime in: dubbed or subtitled? Also, when it comes to reading manga do you like reading the regular left-to-right or the original right-to-left? (see above for my attempt at a poll) _________________ Check it out! i almost universaly prefer Subtitles...though i like the dub of Mononoke Hime more than the subtitled version...but thats the only one i can think of......
...if the Subtitles are done right then it just flows better for me...the voices sound more natural for the roles...and it frequently tends to be closer than the dubbed dialogue to the original intent...
As for manga...i can read it either way...and tend to be able to adapt pretty quickly to the different direction......though i think i'd prefer the way it was originaly written, if only due to the occasional left/right discrepancies that may appear...ie a character's left/right arm being chopped off and having it refered to differently due to a flipped page... |

I think I would perfer the dub if it's done well. With a dub I don't mind if they change some things around as long as it improves it. But unfortunatly there are very very few dubs that are done well. The only ones I can think of the top of my head r Mononoke, also spirited away was good, though they did change a number of things in it, but i think it worked better, and I really really like the Space Pirate Mito dub, it's not nearly as funny in the sub version. And Key the metal idol is good too. Other then that I'm comfertable with watching subs that I don't really notice it most of the time, so they tend to be the safest and if i have to chose without knowing how good or bad the dub is i'd go for a sub, they r always watchable wich is untrue for a number of dubs.... _________________ The most exciting phrase to hear in science, the one that heralds new discoveries, isn't 'Eureka!' but rather 'hmm....that's funny.'
