Okay, the only books I can basically read right now are ones for my children's literature class. (Don't think just because it's children's lit means I'm reading all short books. Most of them are pretty lengthy, there's a lot of young adult stuff.)
Anyways, Eva is one of the books I read last month. It's basically about this girl who is in a serious car accident and somehow they are able to transfer her thoughts and memories into the brain of a chimpanzee. The plot sounding interesting to me, whch is why I picked the book up, but overall, unless you're really into reading about chimps, I dunno if I'd recommend it. The beginning about Eva adjusting to her new life is really well-written, but I get the sense that the author didn't quite know what to do with Eva after that, so she basically ends up leading a protest against the same people who saved her, because of the cruetly it causes to the chimps.
Although, in all fairness, I have to commend the book for thinking about details that a lot of people wouldn't think about for this kind of plot. (For example, Eva still has a lot of chimp instinsts that cause her to lose control now and again, stuff like that.) Anyway, that's my first book review. Unfortunatly, I won't be able to talk about anything off my reading list until the end of this semester. _________________ Check it out! I finally remembered my login for this account.
