This is kinda interesting. Pennstate has bought premium napster service for it's students and faculty...I don't think they can keep the songs they download, but it's almost like unlimited streaming...read the article to find out more...

I think MIT has a similar service... they have several (6?) streaming audio channels that the students can control ('act as DJ'). You register for I think 20 minutes each time. Here's another way another school is dealing with the music issue...it kinda makes sense, but i think there r still legitimate reasons to go to P2P and it can be used for good, though probably noone really uses it for that....
