While I was away i kept hearing that bush wants to send ppl to the moon again, what do u guys think...? Should we spend the money to go to the moon? Is there any other reason then just pride to do so? I haven't heard of anything that would convince me that this is a good idea yet, but i haven't really been listening for it either. If i find an article that talks about this i'll post link to it, or if you know one please post link here

I dunno if we should do it if bush is in office... if he sees the man on the moon he might decide to find some WMD, conclude the man on the moon (the face) is an alien life form that is against Merican Values and nuke the hell outa it. I could hear it now, The loss of our moonlight is a tiny price to pay for our freedom and the safety of our nation.

I believe there are some other countries aiming to visit the moon for the first time in the next 5 years or so... Might have kindled his spirit.

It's hard to pick a side here... I'm not against funding science and exploration, but at the same time we could be helping states balance their budgets, help schools from cutting after-school/music/art programs, and extending benefits to unemployed Americans just to name a few.

Although I hate to say it, the moon doesn't make a lot of sense right now. Mars would be fun, but the moon is over and done with. He's probably talking it up right now as the re-election campaign is going into high gear.
