A series of blender experiments, blending things like thanksgiving dinner and golf balls.
The WTF here is not so much the subject of the videos but the creeeeeeepy creepy people who sometimes try to ingest the blended horror. Powdered glass...mmm...delicious. _________________ People's whole lives do pass before their eyes before they die. The process is called living.

Considering all the horrible brain burning crap that's out on the internet right now I'd say Noo!Sphere sounds about right.
Post-Scarcity Economy seems unlikely at best and Soft Paternalism sounds like a really bad idea.
Although I do welcome our friendly robotic overlords. _________________ People's whole lives do pass before their eyes before they die. The process is called living.

Quote: | The US government wants the world's scientists to develop technology to block sunlight as a last-ditch way to halt global warming, the Guardian has learned. It says research into techniques such as giant mirrors in space or reflective dust pumped into the atmosphere would be "important insurance" against rising emissions, and has lobbied for such a strategy to be recommended by a major UN report on climate change, the first part of which will be published on Friday. |
I didn't read the article itself in depth but the bit about the mirrors jumped out at me primarily because of:

Ewa Wisnierska says she felt like an astronaut returning from the Moon
A German paragliding champion has survived being sucked into a storm that pulled her higher than Mount Everest.
Ewa Wisnierska, 35, who lost consciousness as she soared skywards, was covered in ice and battled hailstones the size of oranges.
She was pulled 9,940m (32,612 feet) above sea level in the storm near Tamworth, in New South Wales, paragliding officials said.
A 42-year-old Chinese man, He Zhongpin, was killed in the tornado-like storm. |

Both WTF and handy.
Quote: | The New York Times decided earlier this week to give free TimesSelect access to college students and faculty with ".edu" in their e-mail addresses, hoping to nurture a stream of young readers that might stick with the paper and TimesSelect after they graduate. But it didn't take long for cynics and TimesSelect critics to suggest that alumni will use the ".edu" test to cheat TimesSelect blind...
...But the Times said it doesn't believe most alumni will cheat. "It's an honor system," said Vivian Schiller, senior VP-general manager, NYTimes.com. "And we're assuming that the alumni of this nation's colleges and universities have a thorough enough education in ethics to keep them honest. |
