here are a few vids the Unreal team showed the game dev conf recently...these look really really impresive... their physics engine is pretty nifty...

Not bad...not bad...but i didn't see much from their physics engine. The rube goldberg machine was neat but not really impressive. The graphical bits displaying their advancements in polycounts, lighting, and particle effects were what i found rather nifty. |

The goldberg machine wasn't too impressive, however their gel thing and the dummy beeing ripped appart was interesting. Also it seems as though they have build in mass and friction into their models, like the bricks in one scene, but I don't know how much of it was careful demo setup vs actual physics.
Everything looks pretty impressive and on the same level at the HL2 and Doom engines we'll just have to wait to see what kinda games it can produce... _________________ The most exciting phrase to hear in science, the one that heralds new discoveries, isn't 'Eureka!' but rather 'hmm....that's funny.'
