I'm on my way to my first real patent!!!
ALCOA my sponsor for my senior design project decided to pursue my group's project to patent. Currently we're seeking a provisional patent only but in the comming months we may apply for a full patent. Due to initial agreements, ALCOA will own all rights to the patent however I will be listed in the patents Smile.
Here're some of the presentation files we used that may interest you (Nov 9 is a full presentation of Phase II of our design, Dec 9 is a very short update) and Final Presentation will be available REALLY SOON!!! Smile I will also try to get the first initial stage presentation up sometime too, a lot of discarded ideas were in that presentation.
Please let me know of any comments or ideas you have on this design as our final designing is going to be done this comming week. Smile

Quick summary: Opportunity - The heat produced by trailer brakes is currently wasted energy. A significant opportunity exists to harness that energy, store it, and use it to supplement power for refrigerated trailers.
