I don't get it... USA is supposed to lead the world... we're willing to give billions and thousands of lives to champion freedom in Iraq... but we won't risk loosing some money to save the world?

we produce 2X the amount of emissions as China... with 1/5th the population.

Even Russia can afford to risk some money to save the environment...

But then agian... not much in our government makes sense these days....

Yah US is being rather annoying in that respect, but to be fair, Russia signing the treaty doesn't really change much, they are already way below the emmissions they have to be I believe, which means they can "sell" that surplus to other countries that are about theirs...I think putin was going to go into it all along he just needed to wait till the right moment to get the most out of it...
